N2  - Der Abschlussbericht fasst die Ergebnisse des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojektes 2017/2018 im Studiengang Master of Science Wirtschaftsinformatik (FH Münster) zur Themenstellung "IoT trifft Blockchain" zusammen. Ausgehend von der entwickelten Vision eines „digitalen Scheckheftes“, das die Nutzungsdaten von Fahrzeugen und industriellen Anlagen fälschungssicher erfasst und diese für cloud-basierte Analysen bereitstellt, wurden folgende Fragestellungen betrachtet: - Wie lassen sich personenbezogene Daten in einer öffentlichen Blockchain ablegen und Zugriffsrechte hierauf individuell steuern? - Wie lassen sich Firmware-Updates für IoT-Geräte durch den Einsatz einer Blockchain und eines dezentralen Dateisystems besser schützen? - Welcher Ansatz eignet sich, um erfasste Maschinendaten redundant in verteil-ten Edge Devices zu sichern? - Welche Vor- und Nachteile hat die Inhouse-Verarbeitung gegenüber einer externen IoT-Cloud-Lösung? Wie lassen sich Inhouse-Lösungen in die Angebote von Cloud-Anbietern migrieren? - Welche Möglichkeiten zur Integration und Verarbeitung von IoT-Daten bieten die IoT-Plattformen Amazon Web Services und Microsoft Azure? Wie grenzen sich diese voneinander ab? Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen wurden in Form von eigenständigen Beiträgen verfasst und in diesem Abschlussbericht zusammengetragen.

N2  - Der Abschlussbericht fasst die im Sommersemester 2022 erzielten Ergebnisse des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojektes im Studiengang Master of Science Wirtschaftsinformatik an der FH Münster zusammen. 

Das Forschungsprojekt gliederte sich in drei thematische Blöcke. Der erste Block betrachtete den aktuell aufkommenden Ansatz, WebAssembly-Anwendungen in serverseitigen Umgebungen auszuführen. Die vielfältigen Leistungsfaktoren, z. B. mögliche Quellsprachen, Werkzeuge und Plattformen, wurde in systematischen Messungen hinsichtlich ihres Einflusses und der Leistungsfähigkeit miteinander verglichen. Im zweiten Themenblock standen jeweils zwei Programmiersprachen im Mittelpunkt. So wurden die Programmiersprachen Rust und Go hinsichtlich der Unterstützung von Nebenläufigkeit anhand des Beispiels eines prototypischen Webservers analysiert und gegenübergestellt. Weitere Leistungsdaten wurden für die Sprachen Rust und Python hinsichtlich der Verarbeitung von Graphalgorithmen erhoben und verglichen. Der dritte Themenblock befasste sich mit Kommunikationsaspekten in Service-Mesh-Architekturen. Hier wurden verschiedene Circuit-Breaker-Implementierungen sowie unterschiedliche Proxy-Ansätze zur Steuerung des Nachrichtenverkehrs gegenübergestellt und bewertet.

Further, 30 good practice UBC case studies have been created to provide positive examples of European UBC.

N2  - Der Abschlussbericht fasst die Ergebnisse des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojektes 2015/2016 im Studiengang Master of Science Wirtschaftsinformatik (FH Münster) zur Themenstellung "Kryptowährungen und Smart Contracts" zusammen. Das Projekt analysierte die Einsatzzwecke, Potenziale und Architekturen von Blockchain-Anwendungen. Des Weiteren wurden verschiedene Fragestellungen zum Nutzen der Blockchain-Technologie in modernen Geschäftsprozessen und zu den technischen Herausforderungen mittels der Entwicklung zweier Prototypen betrachtet. Der erste Prototyp realisiert eine eigene Blockchain, in der verschiedene Angriffsszenarien durchgespielt werden können. Der zweite Prototyp realisiert eine Clearinghouse-Anwendung in Form einer verteilten Smart-Contract-Implementierung (in Ethereum). Der Bericht vermittelt einen Überblick über Ansätze, Strukturen, interne Abläufe und Rahmenbedingungen aktueller Blockchain-Implementierungen. Die erzielten Ergebnisse verdeutlichen neben dem Nutzen auch die Besonderheiten und Einschränkungen der Blockchain-Technologie.

N2  - Der Abschlussbericht fasst die im Wintersemester 2023/2024 erzielten Ergebnisse des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojektes im Studiengang Master of Science Wirtschaftsinformatik an der FH Münster zusammen. 

Das Forschungsprojekt befasste sich mit der Fragestellung, wie sich hochperformanter Code in systemfernen Programmiersprachen wie Java oder JavaScript integrieren lässt, um die vorhandene Hardwareleistung moderner CPUs und GPUs besser ausnutzen zu können. Derzeitig wird hierzu sowohl im Umfeld der Java-Plattform als auch in einer Working Group des World Wide Web Consortiums an Vorschlägen zur verbesserten SIMD-Integration gearbeitet. Im Forschungprojekt wurden diese Vorschläge aufgegriffen und hinichtlich des resultierenden Programmieraufwandes und der erzielbaren Leistungssteigerung qualitativ und quantitativ bewertet. Für JavaScript-basierte Browseranwendungen standen die Schnittstellen WebGPU und WebGL im Mittelpunkt, im Java-Umfeld wurden die drei Schnittstellen Foreign Functions & Memory API, Java Vector API und Java Native Interface (JNI) miteinander verglichen und bewertet.

N2  - Die Integration von Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) im Gesundheitswesen ist zu einem Schwerpunktthema geworden und dominiert aktuell Diskussionen in Kliniken allgemein als auch Pathologien spezifisch. Trotz des Enthusiasmus klafft nach wie vor eine Lücke zwischen den Erwartungen der Anwender und den tatsächlichen Vorteilen nach der Implementierung. Dies spiegelt sich in den Herausforderungen der KI-Integration wider. 
In der folgenden wissenschaftlichen Studie widmen wir uns den Erwartungen von Akteuren im Gesundheitswesen – spezifisch in Kliniken und Pathologien – an KI-Lösungen und ihren Einsatz. Dabei wird ein besonderer Fokus auf die dahinterliegenden Faktoren gelegt, die die aktuellen Erwartungen und die daraufhin ergriffenen Maßnahmen beeinflussen. Unsere Ergebnisse stützen sich sowohl auf den wissenschaftlichen Diskurs als auch auf die weite, öffentliche Diskussion zur praktischen Umsetzung – wie in Expertenberichten, Interviews, Konferenzbeiträgen und Artikeln aus Politik, Kliniken und weiteren Institutionen. 
Dadurch trägt die Studie zu einem besseren Verständnis der aktuellen KI-Erwartungen und ihrer beeinflussenden Faktoren bei und befähigt Akteure in dem Markt, die Zukunft von KI im Gesundheitswesen mitzugestalten.
