N2  - Bisher liegen kaum empirische Daten zur Bedeutung von Online-Selbsthilfeangeboten für Menschen mit Traumafolgestörungen vor. Im Rahmen einer Online-Befragung haben N = 137 Menschen mit Traumafolgestörungen, die Online-Selbsthilfeforen nutzen, offene Fragen zu den Vorteilen, Nachteilen und Grenzen von Online-Selbsthilfeforen sowie zu den wahrgenommenen Veränderungen in verschiedenen Lebensbereichen durch die Nutzung von Online-Selbsthilfeforen beantwortet. Die Antworten wurden mithilfe einer quantitativen Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet. Am häufigsten wurden Vorteile bezüglich des Peer-to-Peer-Austauschs genannt, die ein Zugehörigkeitsgefühl und Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe umfassten. Eine mögliche Destabilisierung durch die Forennutzung wurde als Nachteil thematisiert. Die mit dem Online-Format einhergehende Anonymität wurde gleichermaßen als Vorteil sowie als Nachteil benannt. Als Folge der Nutzung wurden hauptsächlich intrapersonelle Veränderungen, Veränderungen in professionellen Unterstützungsangeboten sowie soziale Kontakte betreffende Veränderungen genannt. Ein substanzieller Teil der Befragten erwähnte Verzahnungen zwischen Forenteilnahme und Psychotherapie, zwei Drittel befanden sich zum Erhebungszeitpunkt in Behandlung. Wie sich unterschiedliche Unterstützungsangebote gegenseitig beeinflussen und diese maximal fördernd kombiniert werden können, sollte zukünftig erforscht werden.

Photo voice is a community-based action research method that allows clients to visually document their everyday lives, particularly with regards to community struggles over needs, issues and strategies aimed at practical solutions for the community. Regarding the third mission of social work, that is to address social inequality, social justice and social change, the authors argue that the method provides clients with a lifeworld orientation, promotes the development of social workers’ sensitivity to diversity, and strengthens the relationship between clients and providers.

Vermehrt nehmen Personen, die in ENMB leben (wollen), psychosoziale Angebote in Anspruch. Damit Berater*innen angemessen auf deren Beratungsanliegen reagieren können, werden konkrete Empfehlungen für die therapeutische Arbeit formuliert. Die Empfehlungen basieren auf veröffentlichten Fallstudien, die bisher fast ausschließlich in englischer Sprache vorliegen, sowie der Beratungspraxis des Autors. Dadurch soll ein Beitrag zu einer besseren psychosozialen Versorgung von Menschen geleistet werden, die einvernehmlich nicht monogam leben (wollen).
