  abstract  = {Der Abschlussbericht fasst die Ergebnisse des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojektes 2015/2016 im Studiengang Master of Science Wirtschaftsinformatik (FH M{\"u}nster) zur Themenstellung "Kryptow{\"a}hrungen und Smart Contracts" zusammen. Das Projekt analysierte die Einsatzzwecke, Potenziale und Architekturen von Blockchain-Anwendungen. Des Weiteren wurden verschiedene Fragestellungen zum Nutzen der Blockchain-Technologie in modernen Gesch{\"a}ftsprozessen und zu den technischen Herausforderungen mittels der Entwicklung zweier Prototypen betrachtet. Der erste Prototyp realisiert eine eigene Blockchain, in der verschiedene Angriffsszenarien durchgespielt werden k{\"o}nnen. Der zweite Prototyp realisiert eine Clearinghouse-Anwendung in Form einer verteilten Smart-Contract-Implementierung (in Ethereum). Der Bericht vermittelt einen {\"U}berblick {\"u}ber Ans{\"a}tze, Strukturen, interne Abl{\"a}ufe und Rahmenbedingungen aktueller Blockchain-Implementierungen. Die erzielten Ergebnisse verdeutlichen neben dem Nutzen auch die Besonderheiten und Einschr{\"a}nkungen der Blockchain-Technologie.},

  abstract  = {In einer {\"A}ra technologischer Fortschritte, sich wandelnder Werte und neuer Arbeitsplatzdynamiken hat sich das Konzept „New Work" als Zukunftsperspektive etabliert. Es geht dabei um mehr als Technologie - vielmehr um tiefgreifende Arbeitsstrukturver{\"a}nderungen, die Autonomie und Eigenverantwortung betonen. Das Thema "New Work" hat sowohl in der Forschung als auch in der Praxis in den letzten Jahren an großer Bedeutung gewonnen. Aus dem gemeinsamen Bewusstsein f{\"u}r die Relevanz dieses Themas ist diese kollaborative Studie zwischen dem Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre der FH M{\"u}nster und der noventum consulting GmbH mit Beteiligung von 100 Mitarbeitenden in M{\"u}nsterl{\"a}nder Unternehmen entstanden. Sie erfasst den aktuellen Stand von New Work im M{\"u}nsterland und findet Antworten zu dr{\"a}ngenden New Work Fragen. Die Ergebnisse sind sowohl aufschlussreich als auch nachdenklich stimmend. Trotz der Begeisterung an neuen Arbeitsparadigmen herrscht im M{\"u}nsterland eine gewisse Unklarheit {\"u}ber „New Work". Ein einheitliches Verst{\"a}ndnis fehlt, was das volle Potenzial hemmt. Die Studie zeigt die Komplexit{\"a}t und f{\"o}rdert Verst{\"a}ndnis jenseits der Terminologie. Sie verdeutlicht Chancen und Herausforderungen f{\"u}r Unternehmen im M{\"u}nsterland im Kontext von New Work. Die Region k{\"o}nnte Vorreiter sein, doch Erfolg erfordert gemeinsame Anstrengung und Offenheit f{\"u}r neue Arbeitsstrukturen.},

  abstract  = {There are many challenges in identifying and managing a disruptive innovation stemming from the limited knowledge on how it unfolds over time. Researchers have identified early signals and ex ante conditions that indicate its occurrence. However, an analysis from a process view acknowledging the underlying dynamics is yet to be done. By taking a process view within a systematic literature review, we analyse the scattered findings on the process of disruptive innovation to identify events and actions leading to a disruptive effect over time. We challenge the understanding of disruptive innovation as an outcome and the linearity of the process by proposing that disruptive innovation can be understood as occurring through emergent dynamics. These dynamics are constituted by: (a) the timing of entry and underlying processes that influences (b) the synchronization of events and actions and is shaped by (c) the adaptability of strategic actions. Thus, we complexify the concept of disruptive innovation to support the understanding of its unfolding and advance its manageability.},

  abstract  = {Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships between technology orientations and export performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Design/methodology/approach A quantitative research design was adopted for this study. The paper formulates hypotheses from the literature review. These hypotheses are tested using structural equation modeling with data collected from 231 SMEs in Uganda. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 and AMOS. Findings The findings of this study showed technology orientation has a positive and significant relationship with the performance of Ugandan SMEs and that supply chain agility moderates technology orientation and export performance. Research limitations/implications The study discusses the findings, advances limitations and managerial implications. It also suggests future research avenues. It proposes some recommendations to help Ugandan SMEs to form flexible supply chains, use the latest technology and create strong relationship ties with their partners in the supply chain. Practical implications The study suggests that managers of Ugandan SMEs should use the latest technology in production, marketing, logistics and supply chain management which will enable them to respond quickly to customer tastes and preferences leading to higher levels of export performance. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature on strategic management showing the reliability of scales used and the confirmatory of the factor structure. This study shows that in strategic management technology, orientation is critical in increasing export performance. This study has extended the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities theories.},
