  abstract  = {Sedimentumleitstollen leiten die sedimentreichen Hochwasserspitzen um die Tal-sperre herum in den Unterlauf des Flusses und verhindern so eine fortschreitende Verlandung des Stauraums. Aufgrund der hohen Fließgeschwindigkeiten und gro-ßen Sedimentfrachten in Umleitstollen weisen diese starke Verschleißerscheinun-gen auf, die zu hohen Unterhaltskosten f{\"u}hren. Es gibt verschiedene Konzepte um diesem Problem entgegen zu wirken. Einerseits kann der Umleitstollen hydrau-lisch optimiert werden, um die Belastung auf die Sohle zu minimieren. Auf der anderen Seite kann der Widerstand der Stollensohle verbessert werden. An der Versuchsanstalt f{\"u}r Wasserbau, Hydrologie und Glaziologie (VAW) der ETH Z{\"u}-rich werden zur Zeit zwei Forschungsarbeiten durchgef{\"u}hrt, die sich diesen zwei Aspekten widmen. In großskaligen Laborversuchen erfolgt eine systematische Untersuchung und Optimierung der maßgebenden Parameter wie Fortbewegungs-art des Sediments und Abrasionstiefe der Stollensohle. Anhand von Prototypver-suchen im neu errichteten Sedimentumleitstollen Solis in Graub{\"u}nden (Schweiz) werden die Zusammenh{\"a}nge zwischen Beanspruchung, Materialeigenschaften und Abrasion im Prototyp ermittelt. Darauf basierend k{\"o}nnen Empfehlungen be-z{\"u}glich Materialwahl, konstruktiver Durchbildung und Dimensionierung abgege-ben und so zu einer nachhaltigen und wirtschaftlichen Wasserbewirtschaftung in Stauseen beigetragen werden.},

  abstract  = {Reservoir sedimentation is an increasing problem affecting the majority of reservoirs both in Switzerland and worldwide. As many dams are more than 50 years of age, this problem is becoming more and more serious nowadays. Res-ervoir sedimentation leads to various severe problems such as a decisive de-crease of the active reservoir volume leading to both loss of energy production and water available for water supply and irrigation. These problems will intensify in the near future, because sediment supply tends to increase due to climate change. Therefore, countermeasures have to be developed. They can be divided into the three main categories sediment yield reduction, sediment routing and sediment removal. This paper focuses on the sediment routing using sediment bypass tunnels. Sediment bypass tunnels are an effective means to decrease the reservoir sedimentation process. By routing the sediments around the reservoir into the tailwater, sediment accumulation is reduced significantly. However, the number of sediment bypass tunnels in the world is limited primarily due to high investment and maintenance costs. The main problem of all bypass tunnels is the invert abrasion due to high velocities in combination with high sediment transport. Three Swiss bypass tunnel examples suffering invert abrasion are presented in this paper. Furthermore, VAW started a research project to investigate the invert abrasion process by conducting hydraulic scale tests in the laboratory. The goal of this research project is to establish general design criteria for optimal flow con-ditions where both sediment depositions in the tunnel are avoided and the result-ing abrasion damages are kept at a minimum.},

  abstract  = {This paper describes the data mining method of association analysis within the framework of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) with the aim to identify standard patterns of nursing care. The approach is application-oriented and used on nursing routine data of the method LEP nursing 2. The increasing use of information technology in hospitals, especially of nursing information systems, requires the storage of large data sets, which hitherto have not always been analyzed adequately. Three association analyses for the days of admission, surgery and discharge, have been performed. The results of almost 1.5 million generated association rules indicate that it is valid to apply association analysis to nursing routine data. All rules are semantically trivial, since they reflect existing knowledge from the domain of nursing. This may be due either to the method LEP Nursing 2, or to the nursing activities themselves. Nonetheless, association analysis may in future become a useful analytical tool on the basis of structured nursing routine data.},

  abstract  = {This paper investigates the role of Dynamic Capabilities (DCs) in the process of Resource Recombination (RR) and thereby elaborates the framework conditions for the recombination of resources in firms from the dynamic capability perspective. Investigating the role of a specific set of DCs in the process of RR, this research addresses some existing shortcomings in the dynamic capability literature, where there is a crucial need to better understand the inter-relationship between capabilities, the resource base of the firm, and innovation in the form of RRs. Addressing this issue, this paper contributes to the resource and competence based research by presenting a conceptual model of the factors influencing RR in firms. The findings suggest that regarding their role and effects towards RR in firms two different types of DCs can be distinguished: Potential Building and Value Realizing DCs.},

Ein weiterer Baustein wird das noch ausstehende Wertstoffgesetz mit Ausf{\"u}hrungen zur Wertstofftonne sein. Insbesondere der Tr{\"a}gerschaft und der Frage der Produktverantwortung sowie der zus{\"a}tzlich zu erfassenden Wertstoffe sind noch viele Fragen offen. Derzeit werden unterschiedliche Varianten diskutiert und teilweise in Modellversuchen getestet.},

  abstract  = {We have developed a new type of unimorph deformable mirror, designed to correct for low-order Zernike modes. The mirror has a clear optical aperture of 50 mm combined with large peak-to-valley Zernike amplitudes of up to 35 μm. Newly developed fabrication processes allow the use of prefabricated super-polished and coated glass substrates. The mirror's unique features suggest the use in several stronomical applications like the precompensation of atmospheric aberrations seen by laser beacons and the use in woofer-tweeter systems. Additionally, the design enables an efficient correction of the inevitable wavefront error imposed by the floppy structure of primary mirrors in future large space-based telescopes. We have modeled the mirror by using analytical as well as finite element models. We will present design, key features and manufacturing steps of the deformable mirror.},

  abstract  = {We have developed a new type of unimorph deformable mirror for real-time intra-cavity phase control of high power cw-lasers. The approach is innovative in its combination of super-polished and pre-coated highly reflective substrates, the miniaturization of the unimorph principle, and the integration of a monolithic tip/tilt functionality. Despite the small optical aperture of only 9 mm diameter, the mirror is able to produce a stroke of several microns for low order Zernike modes, paired with a residual static root-mean-square aberration of less than 0.04 µm. In this paper, the characteristics of the mirror such as the influence functions, the dynamic behavior, and the power handling capability are reported. The mirror was subjected to a maximum of 490 W of laser-light at a wavelength of 1030 nm. Due to the high reflectivity of over 99.998 percent the mirror is able to withstand intensities up to 1.5 MW/cm2.},

Englert, Oerlinghausen Zusammenfassung Weltweit sind {\"u}ber 33,3 Millionen Menschen mit dem HI-Virus infiziert (vgl. WHO, 2009). Die Subsahara z{\"a}hlt mit 24,5 Millionen Infizierten zu den L{\"a}ndern mit der gr{\"o}ßten HIV-Rate. Allein in Kamerun sind ca. 5,5 prozent der Bev{\"o}lkerung betroffen (vgl. UNAIDS, 2007). Die Ern{\"a}hrung kann hierbei den Krankheitsverlauf positiv beeinflussen und somit das Auftreten der charakteristischen Symptome von Aids sowie den Beginn der teuren antiretroviralen Therapie verz{\"o}gern (vgl. Eckert, 2006, Immel, 2006). Durch zahlreiche Faktoren der HIV- Infektion ist bei 20-30 prozent der Patienten bereits in der asymptomatischen Phase der Infektion eine Mangelern{\"a}hrung zu beobachten. Neben dem Absinken des K{\"o}rpergewichtes kommt es h{\"a}ufig zu einem reduziertem Plasmavitaminspiegel Proteinmangel sowie zu vermehrtem oxidativen Stress (vgl. Biesalski,F{\"u}rst, Kasper et. al., 1995, S. 417). Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es die Auswirkungen eines HIV- Care- Programmes auf den Ern{\"a}hrungszustand von HIV- Infizierten Personen in Kamerun im Vergleich zu einer Kontrollgruppe darzulegen. Daf{\"u}r erfolgt eine Messung des Ern{\"a}hrungszustands vor Beginn des HIV- Care- Programmes, sowie nach drei- monatiger Durchf{\"u}hrung des Programmes. Parallel finden diese Erhebungen auch bei den Patienten der Kontrollgruppe statt. F{\"u}r die Erfassung des Body- Mass. Index werden Daten von 30 Patienten der Interventionsgruppe vor Beginn und nach 3- monatiger Durchf{\"u}hrung des HIV- Care- Programmes miteinander verglichen. Anhand eines 3- Tage- Protokolls werden von 31 Patienten der Interventionsgruppe, sowie von 31 Patienten der Kontrollgruppe jeweils vor Beginn der Schulungen und nach drei Monaten der Durchf{\"u}hrung die Parameter Gesamtenergiezufuhr und Zufuhr der Antioxidantien Vitamin A, C, E, sowie Zink miteinander verglichen. Parallel erfolgt von diesen je 31 Patienten je Gruppe auch die Beurteilung der Verzehrsh{\"a}ufigkeit einzelner Lebensmittelgruppen anhand eines Food Frequency Questionnaires. Der Body- Mass. Index von den 30 Personen der Interventionsgruppe verringerte sich zwischen T0 und T1 nur minimal um 0,33. Bei der Auswertung des 3- Tage- Protokolles zeigte sich eine Erh{\"o}hung der Zufuhr der Antioxidantien. Die Vitamine A und C wurden nach drei- monatiger Durchf{\"u}hrung des HIV- Care Programms in h{\"o}heren Mengen zu sich genommen, w{\"a}hrend sich die Aufnahme dieser Mikron{\"a}hrstoffe innerhalb der Kontrollgruppe nicht in gr{\"o}ßerem Ausmaß ver{\"a}nderte. Hinsichtlich der Verzehrsh{\"a}ufigkeit l{\"a}sst sich nach drei Monaten.},
